Aerial Photography and Map Regression Training 26th and 28th January 2016
Today we undertook our second training session covering ‘Aerial Photography and Map Regression‘. During the session we used various applications that professional archaeologists would use to undertake any form of basic research. These include:
- Tithe Maps through Cynefin and Historic Mapping to note changes in the field boundaries
- aerial photographs across Wales,
- Researching old photographs and newspaper articles of Gower through the Peoples Collection of Wales.
This training provides the tools for our volunteers to begin researching ideal places independently for the projects forthcoming field walking event, and in addition carry out research into their own family and village history!
Thank you to all our fabulous volunteers who attended the second training session, we look forward to seeing the fruits of your research and hearing all about it at our next session.
